The stuff of pastoral poetry

You can now enjoy the beauty of Bihar without the hassle of an overnight train and nine hours of road travel.

But, in my experience, I don't find whizzing past fields and thatched roofs in a dusty, dilapidated hunk of dented metal all that bad of a time. Sometimes an iPod, supplemented with Snickers and Pringles, can go a long way.

Blog gets new look, Youtube clip

For those of you who haven't noticed, the blog has received an overhaul in an effort to look more like the official Flying Kites website.

I've also been thinking of going back and editing some of the older posts. Being a first time blogger, I had early troubles with posting pictures, where to store them online, etc. The text won't be altered, as I think that'd be a little revisionist, but the obnoxiously large pictures will be redone.

I chalk those early mistakes up to my desire to get information out as quick as possible. Turns out there are some pratfalls in that.

And it turns out that Picasa 3 comes with some moviemaker capabilities. After some annoyances, namely the transference of images to another computer and difficulties with .m4a vs .mp3 files, I managed to throw something together.

Archiving The Trip

Dear readers! The near 500 photographs taken during the Flying Kites trip to India are now available for your viewing pleasure through Picasa.

The albums include images, all full-size, from the blog as well as a great many others that were not chosen for whatever reason. Think of it as a "special features" section, where you can see entire picture progressions.

The albums will also be posted in slideshow form over the next few weeks.
